Weekend Update and Monday Poetry Train
This has been a good weekend. I got to see some friends, did some writing and plotting, and worked in my friend's garden. At the moment I'm watching the No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency, so far it's been very good (this is only the second episode). I've been working on plotting the fourth draft of my urban fantasy, and started by writing a three sentence pitch for it. I'm including it here, so please let me know if it makes you want to read more:
A long-kept secret, a forgotten story begun millenia ago, and a family keepsake with untold (and unkown) powers. Grace's trip began as a graduation present, and a way for her to celebrate turning twenty one. No one told her she'd have to save the world before she could do so.
I'm also including a poem for Monday's Poetry Train, I've been working on this for a while, mostly when I've been sitting at a stop light watching the trees swaying in the breeze.
Long limbs sway
In the soft south wind
Bending slowly
Like dancers at the barre.
Warming muscles and joints
Before the rush of spring
As life leaps forward
In bud and bloom
And the symphony of spring
Waits in the wings.
It's late, and I have to work tomorrow morning, so I'll just say have a good night and a great week, and I'll be around tomorrow (or actually much later on today) to read the other poems.
