This is getting old here

So I spent the day cleaning the kitchen from stem to stern (again), finding evidence of my uninvited guest (most of it behind the fridge), but no sign of the bloody thing. I did however find evidence that it had spent time in my bathroom (despite the presence of the litter box). Psycho is thoroughly useless as a mighty hunter. I wouldn't be surprised to go into the bathroom one day to find psyhco teaching it how to use the litter box.
I'd be tempted to move, but I'm afraid it would climb into one of the boxes and move with me. Wish me luck.

You May Be Right... I May Be Crazy (tee hee)

My apologies to Mr. Joel, but the title just seemed appropriate somehow. So what in particular did I do that confirms my general insanity (as apposed to the major chaos or colonel mustard), I signed up for NaNo (otherwise known as National Novel Writing Month). Despite the mouse still in my house (I caught two Monday and then surprised on into falling of the countertop on Wed- haven't caught him yet), the general disarray caused by kitchen remodel and mouse invasion, the 101 things that have to get done at the day job, and the dire need for a vacation (and some serious shopping), I have signed on to write 50,000 words over the month of November. Did I mention that I don't think I've topped 1,000 words since June? Or that I haven't finished outlining the novel I plan to work on during NaNo, or that I haven't finished revising the novel I wanted to have done before NaNo started?
Yup. I'm nuts. *g*

Why I've Been Scarce Lately

I apologize to all of my blog buddies for being scarce lately, things have been crazy around here, and I'm still trying to get everything back to normal. What you ask? Here's it in a nutshell: the cabinets and countertops have been installed in my kitchen along with new appliances, and a mouse that refuses to be caught, so I've got to take care of that; getting rid of stuff in the kitchen has created clutter in the dining room and living room, so I've got to take care of that; some idiot walked off with my purse so I had to cancel my credit card and my debit card, and freeze my checking account, and am slowly getting that back in order, only I haven't had a chance to go to the grocery store or do laundry (or run the dish washer- no soap) in over a week. Or buy books.
But I'm going to the bank, and at least this weekend I'll be able to buy groceries, do laundry, and maybe buy a book or two.
Maybe I'll take a nap.

Houston! We Have Laptop!

It's here, it's pretty, it's wonderful. I don't have wifi at home, but the wireless in the laptop works well at the dayjob. Hope to fix that tomorrow or Friday, so I can once again be a bloggin fool during my time off :).
