Okay, so I have my monthly meeting of the Romance Writers, but otherwise I have the weekend off, so I should be able to do lots of blog hopping and get caught up, right? Right? Wrong! It's like this.
1) I have no kitchen- found out Wednesday I'm getting new kitchen cabinets and appliances- Thursday. So I spent Wednesday night unloading the cabinets and storing the stuff anywhere I can find- the bedroom, the living room, part of the dining room (the rest of the space needs to be clear so they can work). Thursday morning they take out my cabinets and my old appliances (generously leaving me with a fridge- plugged in in my dining room), and leave. I get a call from the apartment office that they'll finish Friday (today). Haven't heard anything this morning, and am hoping for the best.
2) My computer has been running as fast as mud flows uphill in a blizzard (but hey eventually it would work), so I bought a memory upgrade, which came in yesterday. So I tried to load it last night and turned on the computer... and it didn't work. So I turned off the computer, took it back out, and now the monitor won't work. Don't know why, I do know it is getting power, because when I first turn it on the light is green and then it turns orange.
and last but not least
3) Hannah is coming Saturday evening sometime. Not a hurricane, but lots of rain and high winds. Which mean that I should really clear off my deck (I live on the third floor and things get blown over during plain old thunder storms), only I can't bring anything inside because of the chaos created by having to empty my kitchen cupboards. Besides, even if Hannah just dumps a lot of rain and not much else...
there's always Ike coming possibly as soon as next week. And Josephine.
So, even if I do get the monitor working and haven't killed my CPU, I'll probably be busy this weekend (or napping). On the other hand, we just got a copy of Acheron in, so maybe I'll procrastinate and read that. :)
Wish me luck.
And for all of you in the path of any of these storms, stay safe and I hope they don't do much damage.
