New Year's Goals 2009

So before the New Year comes, I thought I'd write down what my goals are for the coming year. Not much different from last year, but at least if I write them down I'll have something to aim for. So here they are:
1) Get more exercise- I'm going to keep up with the Tai Chi, but need to add to it. I'm thinking of joining the Y, using the indoor swimming pool and maybe the (dreaded) treadmill.
2) Get more writing done- and keep track of how much I write throughout the year. Specific goals: rewrite the urban fantasy, finish book 2 of the fantasy, and if there's enough time- work on finishing the novel that started as a short story.
3) Three submissions this year- one is already planned, so it should be doable.
4) Attend the RT conference in Orlando (and meet even more of my blog buddies).
5) Loose weight- I'm thinking of doing the Atkins for the first month and then switching to Weight Watchers)
6) Organize my apartment- still working on this one.
7) Post more on my blog.
8) Read more nonfiction (some of those books are going to come from the Great Books list).
9) Eat out less (and invite my friends over for dinner more often).
That's all I can think of at the moment, and it is now 2009, so I will say Happy New Year, and good night. :)

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

I MISS YOU!!!
and Jen, and Elizabeth, and everyone in Library Land!!!

This year my goal is to write a full novel, and try to get published. And to get a job hopefully at a library. Because I'm shamefully unemployed. And I hope you get all of your stuff done this year too!!

Awesome goals. I'm sure you'll accomplish them.

I wish I was able to go to RT this year but alas I will be too large to roll myself on a plane ride.

Hopefully in 2010! :)

Happy New Year!!! I have a hint on goal number one. If you don't care for the treadmill try the Elliptical Trainers. (I think they are more fun than treadmills.)

Laura, You've seen me on the elliptical... (that's all that needs to be said). :)

I'm with you on exercising and writing more. I would also love to have friends over for dinner more often as well...no more dinners out. I think we should cook new dishes and experiment...that would be fun.

Good luck with your goals.

wish you well on your 2009 endeavors.

my list has some of the same: exercise (mini-tramp); healthy foods; write more; submit something of mind somewhere; blog more; less lurking and more reliable return visits--sigh; organize my room and computer files; read more books--esp more from my Britanica Great Books set.

Was even thinking of finding or starting a Great Books reading challenge before this thing with my Mom came up.

I've gotten off to a great start eating healthy and lost some weight already. but had to put the tramp work on hold re drs orders after i developed celluitus in the leg i slammed into the dishwasher door on New Year's Eve.

what's worse, my poor sister now has to wait on me too instead of depending on my help caring for our Mom.

i'm sorry to hear your job does not give you the joy i imagine working in a library would give me.

thanx for your New Year's greetings on my blog. Sorry it took me so long to reciprocate
