The good news: it's not the clutch. The bad news:it's just as bad. Actually it's the cable that runs from the stick to the transmission, so I've got to replace that and a clip. For $600. Which leads to the big Waaaah!: I can't go home. At least not now. So my vacation has been postponed, hopefully only until September. The budget just took a swift kick in the ass, and the next two weeks will be tight (not Ramen Noodle tight, more like lots of tuna fish tight). I might see about going to Williamsburg Saturday though, see friends and maybe do some clothes shopping). But damn, Saturday's my mum's birthday and I wanted to be there (and go camping with the sibs). Waaaah. I'm gonna go take a nap now. Sigh.

Hugs, Ann. Our budget took a swift kick, too -- I've had it with the AC with the perennial leak.
I'm feeling your pain. Minus the longing to be with your mom, but that's probably good since she's your mom and not mine...
Hang in there.
Hugs, I know your pain. That Man drives several hundred miles a day, and our nearly ten year old car is about on its last leg! Your mom and family will understand.
Thanks guys, I was definitely a let down. But I'm going to try again in September, and that's not too late in the year to go camping, right?
Aw, I'm sorry Ann. Sux.
But no, September is not too late. Something to look forward to. :-)
Thanks, Raine. I did take yesterday and today off (no car yesterday) so at least I had a four day weekend (now if I only felt like Doing something- everything I think of seems to involve money). I've started the Da Vinci Code- quite interesting.
Hugs. That happened to me in January when I had 1000 miles on my new truck. Luckily, my hassle was covered by warranty, and I was so thankful it happened when I backed out of my driveway to go to work in the morning instead on the way back to Alabama from Texas where I bought the truck.
I'm really sorry it messed up your trip, though. Ouch.
Thanks, Jean. I'm still going to try and go home so we can go camping. :)
