Of gloating, sweating, and grocery shopping

I want to talk of many things (apologies to Lewis Carrol and his kings and ring and sealing wax, or whatever the hell he was talking about *g*- what can i say, it's saturday- I don't do reference on saturday), and have lots to do as well, so I'll get started before the nap hits.

Gloating first. I not only got to see Harry Potter last night, but Joely emailed me an ARC of her ebook soon to be released (do you feel jealous now? you should). Both were great entertainment. Y'all know Harry, the movie was awesome, the good guys good, the story suspeceful, the bad guys deliciously evil (the woman who played Professor Umbridge was incredible- as was Emma Thompson as ProfessorTrewlaney and the whole cast really). So go see it, and come back and let me know what you thought (otherwise I'd be giving it all away and I don't want to do that).

Joely's book was great. Well built world, enough backstory to make it believable and interesting without any infodumps, great main characters, lots of tension, great sex (and none of it ... gratuitous- yeah that's the word...seriously though, it was actually part of the plot, not just thrown in to raise pulses). I'm not going to tell you who, or what, or where, or when (I wouldn't want to spoil it for you). I'll just tell you to go buy the ebook (when it comes out), you know she's a great writer- you've read her snippets (if you haven't, go here and check them out). And honestly, isn't that a cool cover?

The 70 days of sweating were going great until yesterday, when I had to work and after work I went out to dinner (I had a lovely cup of crab soup and a Cobb salad) with friends and then went to see Harry Potter (and after which i was tired and wordless and went to bed), but i will make up the missing words this weekend, sometime. Maybe after I talk Jenn into going out to lunch so i can go grocery shopping and not want to buy out the store, besides I have to make my weekly pilgimage to B&N. Have a great weekend.
