Thirteen of My Favorite Desserts

Ah, the things we think to write about when all other topics desert us. I didn't want to gripe about the Dayjob, and I didn't want to whine about the allergies, so I decided to give into my cravings for sweets, most of which I can't eat right now. So here it is.

1. Bananas Foster- Okay, the only place I've ever had this is in Florida, but it's really delicious and the whole watching someone prepare it (complete with lighting it on fire) is fun to watch, definitely something to share though.

2. Creme Brulee- they make a killer one of these at the restaurant at the Biltmore Estate Winery. Yummy.

3. Chocolate Mousse- What's not to love *g*.

4. Molton Chocolate Cake- like the one at Chili's- served with vanilla ice cream and fudge sauce- another dessert to be shared.

5. Sour Cream Chocolate Cake- Easy to make, uses only one mixing bowl, and tastes quite yummy with mocha flavored butter cream frosting (I think I'm going to have to make one of these as soon as the allergies leave- yup).

6. Carrot Cake with Cream cheese frosting- This is one of those things I only eat out, to keep it as a treat.

7. Brownies- there are so many- chocolate chip butterscotch brownies (we made these in my family long before anyone started calling them blondies), chocolate brownies (plain or iced, particularly good with cream cheese frosting), they're all good.

8. Muffins- I'm a bit more picky here, but there are still a few that I like- banana nut, chocolate, chocolate chip, blueberry. Those are all I can think of at the moment.

9. Pies- A friend of mine back home makes the best pies, I am particularly fond of her blueberry pie. I'm also rather fond of pumpkin, pecan, and key lime (and I make a mean key lime pie- if I do say so myself).

10. Strawberry Shortcake- Sometimes when I lived at home, during the summer we would skip dinner and just eat the strawberry shortcake.

11. Cookies- the home-made kind that I like are, of course, chocolate chip, but also sugar cookies, almond crescents, and oatmeal raisin.

12. Frozen Coffee Drinks- just about any kind from any coffe place.

13. Ice Cream- Several of my favorites are from B&J- Dublin Mudslide, Phish Food, and Creme Brulee, but I also like Southern Pralines, Coffee, and even good old Vanilla with chocolate Syrup.

Several of my favorites, although I've never had Bananas Foster. Anything with rum can't be all bad. :-)

I made carrot cake with cream cheese frosting yesterday. Yum! Mmm, I love creme broulee.

Hey Joely- Bananas Foster is bananas cooked with lots of butter and sugar and then the rum is added and lit. Once the rum burns off, the bananas are poured on top of vanilla ice cream. Heavenly.

Hey Charlene- if you like creme broulee, you'll love the ice cream. It's even got the crunchy sugar bits *g*.

I'm not a real fan of raspberries, but I had a frozen caramel cofee thing that was quite delicious.

I love Creme Brulee, but I have to be careful eating it because I'm lactose intolerant. Worth every belly ache...

A very yummy list! I haven't had carrot cake in years. And I've never had Creme Brulee or Bananas Foster.

I'm with you on every one except carrot cake. My favorite, though, is bananas foster. No, chocolate creme brulee. That's the best!

I'm not a big fan of carrot cake or strawberries, but the rest of these all sound fantastic!

Happy TT and thanks for visiting my list. :-)

You just explained why I didn't like bananas Foster -- there's rum in it. :D But OMG, I adore creme brulee and miss it terribly since I moved from Vail to rural Nebraska. Ditto chocolate mousse. Oh, you're making me hungry for dessert! Gotta go dish up some coffee ice cream...

Oh yum. Great post. Anything chocolate gets a thumbs up from me. Then when I've OD'd on chocolate I like to move to the fruit stuff. Topping it all off with a frozen coffee drink would be heaven.

I wonder how many cyber calories I just earned. LOL!

Thanks for stopping by my blog.
