Thirteen Favorite Games (Board, Computer, and Playstation 2)

1) The Hobbit (PS2)- Only for 1 player but still a cool game.
2) The Lord of the Rings- The Third Age (PS2) for 1-2 players, some battles take a while to get through.
3) 1602 A.D. (PC)- this game was actually the original inspiration for my first book (which has very little in common with the game *g*).
4) The Lord of the Rings- The Return of the King (PS2)- started playing this, but got sucked into the Third Age, and now I’m obsessed with finishing, and then I’ll come back and finish this one.
5) The Lord of the Rings- The Two Towers (PS2) Only for 1 player
6) Grand Tourismo (PS2)- this is more fun playing against someone.
7) Clue- Professor Plum in the Pantry with the piano wire *g*.
8) Trivial Pursuit- I have the Lord of the Rings version.
9) Sequence- card game and board game, very fun.
10) Jigsaw Puzzles- the bigger the better
11) Labyrinth the card game- its like a jigsaw puzzle where you decide what it will look like.
12) Word puzzles- crossword puzzles, word search…
13) Sudoku- I like the squiggly ones and the samurai puzzles.

Oh I just love The Hobbit game! I spent hours playing it!

I love sudoku! I'm not so much into action-type games because I'm not coordinated enough to hit the multiple buttons at the same time.

Lesley-isn't it a great game? I've started another go round, to see what I missed the last time (when I confess I was focused mostly on just getting through *g*).

Hi Joely- That's another thing I liked about the Hobbit, it led you gradually into more advanced moves.

Sudoku is the bane of my existence - I start playing and I cant' stop, and then subject myself to feeling stupid when I can't figure them out :) Also, I scrolled down and got distracted by all the quizzes...and wasted tons of time. This is awesome. :D

Ahh, yes, I remember playing CLUE for hours and hours and hours...!

Clue, always loved that game, but Monopoly we'd play for days on end. Crosswords are a religion to my mom. My nieces and nephew, sister, brother-in-law, even us, stop by and, even if she's not in, will pick up the one she's on...it's a family event :-)

My big mistake was in getting her a printer that also had a scanner...occassionaly I'll get one by email!

Squiggly and samurai sudoku? You must share!!

Why do I see a pattern in this list, otherwise?

Must fly out the door, but hopefully I'll be back to leave a better comment!

Bri- when I first started trying Sudoku I couldn't finish even the easy ones, but I found a book of puzzles that explained the strategies, and now I'm hooked.

Red- I still play Clue for hours and hours (when we're not busy killing orcs *g*).

Tilly- I sometimes get phonecalls for my oldest sister who doesn't even say Hey, just what's a seven letter word for --- starting with a l?

Susan- you see a pattern? I love patterns *g*. Share!

I love huge jigsaw puzzles and word games as well. Especially, while watching tv.

I love jigsaw puzzles but being a mom of three rats (read three young boys) haven't had an opportunity to attempt let alone complete one in awhile.

Happy TT.

Be well and enjoy the day.

My kids love the Lord of the Rings games, I think they are pretty gross, though.
Have you played Phase 10, dice or cards? Great games!
Thanks for stopping by my parade TT!

Cool list of games! I think the game I'm most addicted to would have to be Tetris. :-D

Happy TT, and thanks for visiting mine!

I don't play many computer or video games, but I love jigsaw puzzles and logic puzzles.

Susan- if you go to www.websudoku.com and click on the link that says today's variation, sometimes it is a squiggly, sometimes a samurai (a samurai is four sudoku squares linked by a fifth which overlaps the others at the inside corners). They're quite fun.

Christine- Have you tried sudoku? (evil grin)It's not at all addicting.

Angela- I love the really big ones, I once had a puzzle of the Eiffel Tower that was 2500 pieces.

Danielle- have you tried some of the puzzles with larger pieces, the
rats might like them.

Qtpies- Phase 10? Is that a board game? PC? Playstation game?

Thomma Lyn- I forgot Tetris! I actually have a hand held Tetris that I took with me to Ireland, great fun.

Darla- I must admit I don't play computer games (or PS2 games) very often. They suck you in and then the day's gone, and I'm trying to write (and blog, and work the dayjob).

Great list. I'm going to have to check out some of these games when I get back to the States for my boys. My oldest loves playing on the computer. We only have the one and it's getting old. I'm afraid they're going to break it with the way they use the "key" to attack. And if the computer breaks, expect me to have a major meltdown! LOL!

Dang, now you've got me thinking I need to set aside the time and get back into gaming. (I so don't need to do that). Not if I ever want to write. :)

Ann said...

Gabriella-if you're afraid they'll kill your computer, you might want to think about getting them a playstation (2) or some other system. I got mine as a birthday present. Not all of them are expensive.

Lisa- I know what you mean, I actually don't spend a lot of time playing, about once a month of so my walking partner and I hang out and kill orcs after our laps around the pond.

I love sudoku and Lord of the Rings game for XBox. We also have Dance, Dance Revolution, complete with metal dance pad. Good times there. :)

I just started playing Clue with my 7 year old. Loved that game since I was a kid.
How come there's no LotR version out? Legolas in Lothlorian with Gandalf's staff. LOL!

Ann Aguirre said...

Dude, I was so into Clue as a kid.

Ann said...

Christine-I've tried Dance, Dance and I am so not coordinated.

Wylie- don't give them any ideas.

Ann- I still love playing it *g*.
